The Twenty Percent

1)I spoke to a dentist witht his own practice. He said his target for customers are people who are concerned about their health. Although everyone should be the ones that actually are are his most important.  His customers unmet need is having great customer service and cutting edge technology to feel complete comfortable during their appointments. The demographics vary, but it's mostly those who have dental problems or are educated about their health. His customers mostly use website and business card ads to see services.
2) As these 'target customers' the questions in the paragraph directly above.
3) Does the entrepreneur adequately understand their customers' problems? Where are the differences? Why might these differences exist.
Th enetrepreneur adequately identifies the people who are his most important customers and the way her advertises to the. Because they're older people they have more knowledge about health and also have deteriorating health. So they way he markets to them applies to what the customers are interested in. The service meet their unmet need as well.

Week 8 Reading Reflectin

1) I was very surprised that entrepreneurship is much simpler than  people make it. There's many ways to finance your ideas. You don't have to come up with something amazing for a business. There are always simpler ways to get what you want and not everything need to be a huge success. The most import thing is progress and small victories.

2) Nothing really confused me. There are some in complex ideas but it makes sense to me.

3) Do the methods described depend on the quality of the company and it's current condition or more of it's potential?
Would you recommend giving a very large part of a company to a very experience entrepreneur in exchange for mentorship and networking, rather than finding other means of financing to keep more ownership?

4)
I didn't really disagree with anything.

Half-way Reflection

1)
This class is basically just trying to get you to adapt to a new way of doing things. It wants to replicate the effort that it takes to be an entrepreneur. Consistency and progress is key. Adaptability is the new way of doing successful business. Keep up with the instructions, put effort into doing the assignments and it will become simple.
2)
I think I've developed persistence in the last two months. I keep an end goal in mind and realize that what ever i put into something is what I'm gonna get out of it. The faster i put in effort, the faster it becomes easier. I have definitely become more tenacious because of this. I would mostly attribute this to the way the grading is set up.
3)
would advise just to care. Everything you put energy into will reciprocate it back. Being invested in something because you realize it will benefit you will take you far. Your habits make you so make sure you have million dollar habits.

Free Money

  • I will mostly be by fraternity row because it's close to me and people walk by there.
  • Anyone who I see walking or maybe even people in groups so they're a bit distracted and i also benefit from talking to a group
  • I will say why i approached them
  • I plan to tell them that I always give back money to people because it makes me feel better about myself
  • I think i will be able to give away all 5
Had difficulty posting the videos on here but here are the links

https://youtu.be/Dzn-SDcISlg

https://youtu.be/fsO3kJ8ADxM

This exercise was actually a bit more awkward than I anticipated. I thought that giving

away money would be enjoyable for both parties but it was actually a bit strange because

it really is just a dollar and not that great of a sum. People were actually on their way to do

something so they were a bit dismissive too. On one of the videos the guy actually paused

when he saw me recording so it was almost like i owed him a dollar for weirding him out!

Week 7 reading reflection

1) I wouldn't actually consider it too surprising, but the marketing strategies used were a bit new to me. They helped me visualize how to sell to people and not who to sell to even though they seem like complete different things.
2)
Initially the fact that signaling out customers who purchase more is sometimes better surprised me. But then i started to think about it and It made a lot of sense because of the 80/20 rule which would means that 80% of your revenue comes from 20% of your customers
3)
Does this work for all companies regardless of how old they are? At the beginning shouldn't you be focusing on any customers?
4)
I do not have disagreements. As i said before, i was a little skeptical at first but then I related to other things that i have learned and realized it was actually great information

Elevator Pitch No. 2

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Week 6 Reading Reflection

1) The thing that surprised me most about article, is that Porter mentions the different type of applications that can come from an idea. There could be aspects of your idea that is great for a different industry

2)Nothing confused me, everything was clear.

3) What if on top of mastering those 5 areas we implement one more? How long after you implement the five factors do you see results?

4) This article reinforces what I've read before so i don't really disagree with Porter

Customer Interviews No. 3

1) I intend on asking when they would see the idea having an application in the customers life. Im going to gauge if this is something that they consider beneficial to a great extent.
2)

3) People genuinely enjoyed the idea and were excited to see something like this. They quickly identified the benefits. I think this will change my confidence in the business and really appreciate my idea more.

Idea Napkin No. 1

1) I am a visionary. I spend my days wondering what my contribution to society will be and how I will make a dent on the future and on history books many years from now. This business would serve as one of many ideas I plan to implement on the world through out my life. I plan to solve simple problems and advance humanity.
2) People occasionally make the mistake of locking their cars with keys inside the car still. We shouldn't have to stress about trifling things like that. I will save people's time and not make them stress in the chance that something like this happens to them.
3) A great part about my idea is that it can help anyone who owns a car and even people who don't. Although it mostly helps those who do have a car, in the occasion that there is more than one person in a car that gets locked with no way of opening it, they will not have to waste time either.
4) This is a very frustrating thing the happens to people all the time. I would say even dozens of time a day in America. Money is already paid to insurance company for this simple service and they pay it more than once. With my product it would be a one time purchase and that would be the end of it. In fact, I might even offer it for free.
5) There is no product like this on the market, only cars that don't allow the car to lock if there is a key inside. Yet even so, sometime a key can get locked in the trunk of the car and that feature is obsolete. My product will be applicable to every car out there.
All these elements fit together. Overall, it is a product that will save people time and stress. It will be something very easy to use and there is nothing like it on the market. It is a sound idea.

week 5 reading reflection

1) I think the most surprising part of the reading was the fact that there are so many new business and ideas coming out constantly yet only a surprising margin of those are successful.
2) This week there was actually nothing confusing to me
3)My questions to the author would be to be to explain the feasibility approach a bit more and to specify the restrictions a bit more
4)One of the things I didn't exactly agree with was the objectivity in businesses that the author was talking about. I think sometimes this isn't even applicable because passion conquers how succesfull something is.

Interviewing Customer No.2

1) My opportunity is going to revolve around a simpler way to get access to your keys or your car in order to not have to waste time and money to get a key thats inside a locked car.
2) My customers last time were super ideal because they all had cars and had this happen to them. This time i actually encountered people who did not have cars and just had to deal with this because of the situation.
3)  I focused more on asking questions about a solution to the problem or a way to make the problem go way. I gave them ideas on which to bade their opinion on in order to see what would be most simple.
4)

5)  I'm actually very impressed with my opportunity because I thought this would only be applicable to people with cars but as my interviews show, it applies to everyone
6) 1) Just do it! It gets easier as you start doing it so just get in a rhythm
    2) Have a general outline of what you want to ask. Don't make it a script so you can pay attention to responses.
3)You don't have to go to a public place! You can ask people that live close to you! In other words, you should find a way to interveew people and not go to out of the way.

Elevator Pitch No. 1

I present: Major Key

A more practical and time efficient way of dealing with keys stuck inside a vehicle. Many of us have to deal with minute things such as these that I feel have no place in our modern world. I don't think that a key locked in a car should be an issue we should have to worry about. Thats's why with Major Key I plan to give digital access to locked car doors. Where in the case of an accidental left behind key willl not take up the next hour of your time.
